Spinach Salad with Roasted Pork Tenderloin, Maytag Blue Cheese, and Raspberry Vinaigrette

This isn’t a blog post so much as, well… just two pictures. I expected to have posted these pictures long ago, but life intervened again, as it is wont to do.* Sleep easy though, for summer has officially started for me and blog posts should be increasing. There are lots of wonderful food opportunities on the horizon, from a Dolores Park picnic to finally biting the bullet and emulating Harold’s compost location (if he can do it in Korea, I damn well am going to be able to do it in San Francisco) and eventually starting a rooftop garden, to just having a great summer overall. It’s already started well, with lots of food, friends, and family, but very little cooking on my part.

It’s time to start eating food by me again.

A photographic photosynthetic update

Well, look who decided to show up around these parts again. Me! It’s been a while since I last rapped at ya’ and in that time things have changed.

Mint Juleps: A Summer Drink, For Spring

I wrote this a long time ago and made this drink even longer before that. I have a bit of a blog backlog. I only mention that because today is a day when I could really use one of these, but fresh mint and bourbon are so far away. I’d have to walk for nearly FIVE minutes or so. So, Fat Tire will have to be an acceptable subsitute.

I call this a mint julep, but purists might disagree. Mint juleps are one of those drinks that are so closely tied to a particular region that variations might be seen by some as blasphemous. Me? I’m a blasphemous type of guy so I feel free to mess around with the recipes of these refreshing concoctions.

Eggs in a Bread Bowl

This would have been a perfect post for an Easter breakfast. That’s what I typed a couple of weeks ago, when I last intended to write this post. And it was a month before that when I ate this meal. It’s odd because half of me feels like it happened an eternity ago and the other half doesn’t know where the time went. I suppose that’s what being swamped feels like. What with school and work and finals, I rarely have a free moment. So, of course it was a good idea to accept the invitation to start blogging at EatNation, adding yet another thing on my metaphorical plate.  But also on my plate–amidst the murk of the swamp–are bright oases of goodness. This breakfast was definitely one such oasis.

Yep, I’m Officially That Guy [Mobile Post]

My roommate Will and I are currently mid meal at Delfina Pizzeria. I’m on my second slice of ‘Purgatorio’ pizza.

I not only took a picture with my phone, I’m now blogging about it from the selfsame phone…

That guy status achieved.

In my defense, the pizza does have an egg on it. Unfortunately, I like the concept more than the execution.

Maybe I’ll try it myself this summer.
